BTW - if anyone wants "proof" that the Weber Q200 and Q220 BBQ can be used with either butane and propane WITH NO MODIFICATION NECESSARY (except of course an appropriate regulator for each gas type, here is the faq directly from weber's website:

Use google translate if you can't read the French. :)

I am afraid your modification is not robust. The hose clamp you are using is designed for water, not gas. The hose itself may not be rated for the corrosive effects of gas, either. As time passes, the hose will degrade, or the joint made with the hose clamp may degrade. This will inevetibly lead to a gas leak and explosion while roasting your magret du canard.

Hi,

That's great explanation.
Just a question : Why did you choose butane instead of propane as the US grills are set for propane ? Did you replace the injectors when performing the mod ?
Your help will be appreciated.

I moved an entire container's worth of stuff so adding the grill to the container was no harder to do, plus I already had it, I didn't want to spend another 500€ for a grill that I already had, if I didn't already have a container's worth to ship, I wouldn't have shipped it. That and French grills are smaller and I had a large Weber grill with 4 burners, a rotisserie, and a burner, not easy to find in France.

Why wouldn't you just get a French grill? Wouldn't that be easier than shipping one in from the US anyways?
