I have been meeting a few people here in Toulouse who seem to only like a very few styles. It is so depressing to me. I was playing a DJ remix of the whole Ziggy Stardust album at a party. The younger people liked it because they liked the style but had no idea they were David Bowie songs or maybe even who he was. The older people didn't like it because the DJ had committed a sacrilege, desecrating David Bowie. When will I learn to accept permanent outsider status? I even like rap, a lot of it in fact.
