When I looked over the BAD site I saw that there was a group near me working with Heifer international. I also saw one of the names was a British name. If not for BAD I wouldn’t have made the connection and felt comfortable contacting them.

Did I solve the poverty problem? Of course not, but it lets me know who else is doing something and what they are doing and if I can get involved.

In French there is an expression that roughly translates to “to put a tick in your ear” which means to implant an idea that you cannot stop thinking about. You never how how far and wide an impact you will make, it is better to try. *steps off soapbox*

I just do not understand all that hype – but I do not mind to participate, not in the least. Although I do believe that “writing about poverty” is not the same as “fighting poverty itself”.

And even though I believe that poverty of mind (if I use the terms correctly) is way worse – since this is the only reason there is technical, monetary poverty in the world.
