The man working for the TV station has to give up his opinion because he works for the state? I’m not sure I agree with that.

One has to display the manners which one expects to be treated and I don’t think he did that. It’s hard to demand respect when you don’t display it. If Bush and I were to cross paths I’m not sure what I would do.

Hi Owen,
It is not because you are a President that you can’t drink no more! You’re just a human being anyway. As far as I know, we both sometimes have a drink too much and it’s good for the heart as well!!! I do not think Sarkozy is a drinker. I think to the contrary,he doesn’t drink very often so, when he does (with somebody like Poutine for example) and if he isn’t carefull, he gets drunk.
Now, it doesn’t matter if you like a President or not. But the function/ position is to be respected. If I was to meet M. Sarkozy I would say: good evening M. President. It’s just to be polite. Everytime we see each other I say: Bonjour, comment va-tu? This guy was working for a governmental TV asset and paid by taxes. I do agree with the reaction of Sarkozy. Agree or not, the guy has been elected legally by 53% of the French population.

Well that and he doesn’t talk about religion so much, thank god, pun intended. Bush talks about having been a heavy drinker but Sarko is still aheavy drinker. There is another video recently where he clearly sounds drunk while at an important conference. I don’t really care but he does look rather stupid.

The only difference between he and Bush seems to be that he is a bit more intelligent…..well, except for putting his foot in his mouth.
