I sort of echo blueVicar's experience and perhaps, my fatigue with some of the bad points has something to do with just how many of these evenings I have experienced ;-)

It can be hit or miss depending on where you are and who is playing. We found lots of good music all night long, but we certainly passed very bad music along the way.

There is a Salsa music club not far from our apartment and I think they had music until 7AM, thank goodness for double vitrage.

I remember this night last year in Antibes...very loud, very bad music played about three blocks away and sounded like it was on our very own terrace! Silence was all the sweeter when it ended. But the crowds enjoyed the event. At least it wasn't every night!!

Meilleurs voeux!!
