- Don’t tell me you don’t accept them, I have used it here before. Wait at the bottom of the bag is an old receipt. Guess from where, yes here, look I used this credit card, what do you mean you don’t take them, here is the proof, you’re lying or stupid, probably both
- No wonder they don’t work for you, if you slide them that slowly we’ll see the next full moon

God I’ve never been more irritated in France than when some stupid clerk would tell me my stupid card would not work without EVEN trying it. fools. I concur, Owen, I CONCUR!
The trick is that if the machine has the swipe part in addition to the puce reader, your card will work, period. Some newer machines don’t have the swipe part and then there is nothing they can do. I don’t know why anyone would buy a machine like that because you are basically guaranteeing that tourists or business travelers cannot shop in your store. Get ready, in France you will have this argument.

If you have a carte a piste, as they call it, be prepared for this argument. People will lie and say they don’t accept it but that is not true. If their machine has a swipe part then it will work. There is no difference in processing the card. I guess when you are in a place that is used to having international visitors they know how to swipe the cards.
