Today is my birthday, no big plans, except for going to the ENAC, where I work, but not for work related things. I am thinking of applying to a Master’s program in User Interface Design. I don’t think I have the prerequisites but I am wondering if I can apply and be accepted provisionally, ie take some of the courses in the core area but take other background courses I might be missing. I have contacted several advisors in the program and have not been discouraged from trying, even after revealing that I don’t have formal training in web design and programming languages. I have a meeting today with one adviser specifically to see if it is feasible for me and what other options might exist. Wish me luck, and happy birthday.

Happy Birthday!!
If the advisors haven’t tried to discourage you, ou probably have a good chance of getting in. Bon chance!
Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday! Make sure you do whatever you like today!
I certainly have not done whatever I like today, I’d like to but ce n’est pas possible! C’est dommage!

May 8, birthday over, semblance of life continues.
Happy birthday, a day late. Hope you did at least one fun thing!
Owen, hope it was a great day!
nothing special actually, we feel a bit alone here, so we didn’t do anything.
A belated Happy Birthday!
Which school is the UI program taught at? You should check out the “VAE” program — Validation of your experience (usually professional experience) with academic credit for it! This might help you get around the pre-requisite hurdles.
The program is a joint program between UPS and ENAC, gotta love those acronyms. I know about the VAE program but it can take longer than 6 months for the process.
I can’t get into the program which is a Masters 2 program without Java programming and other Object Oriented experience. I am looking at M1 programs that I could get into and in those programs I’d learn the OO stuff.
I’m willing to be in school again for 2 years, but not more.
Anyway, it is a very interesting sounding program and the advisor I met with was encouraging, although he freely admitted I was a special case. I’ve been telling my friends this for years and they don’t believe me.
