Social bookmarking has helped me get a few more readers to the blog and can really help with traffic. I’ve experimented with different plug ins for Wordpress to see what works best. I still don’t know but there is a new one to try. This one is a little different.

If you click on the button on the bottom of each post, a new window opens up and you are taken to socialmarker.com. From here you can check the boxes next to the social networks you use and it will submit the post to each of those sites.

Since it offers the ability to submit to 46 of the best social bookmarking sites you probably should click none under the Heading “Select the social bookmarking sites you want to submit to:” This will erase all check marks and then you can select the ones you actually use. These will be stored so the next time you share a post those same sites will be checked. If you register for another site you can add that check and it will save it as a preference too.

In a window inside of the site the social sites you submitted too will open and then you can enter your details like log in name etc. Once you do this the first time it is done, it is remembered, or not if you choose not to remember it. Then any info that needs to be added like a title or headline in Digg will be requested through this site. It makes it much easier to submit to 10 sites at once instead of visiting each site. This can greatly speed up your efforts to get your post out.

Of course if you have the Stumble Upon toolbar installed or del.icio.us it is just as easy to use those. But for those who want to share on all their social sites at once, this is very time saving. Please let me know what you think if you try it out.
