Great Site about Blogging

I have been struggling to keep my New Year’s Resolution of writing a blog post everyday. With the help of the time stamp feature I  “appear” to be blogging every day. So I have been trying to think about what makes doing blogging easy and hard, why do I do it, and why continue. There are many sites about blogging but many of them focus on “make millions now” etc. I started looking for content suggestions, new plug ins, ways to increase RSS feeds, etc. Daily Blog Tips just gives you simple and easy to use tips to  begin, improve, and refine your blog. I have really enjoyed reading it and find it offers extremely practical tips. See for yourself. http://www.dailyblogtips.com/

  1. You’ve probably noticed by now, that the blog referenced in the website portion of “leave a reply” is not current. I use that blog just to keep a record of our trips to Europe (and Asia if we ever make it). I do have an online blog (diary) at Open Diary in which I post usually on Mondays. Sometimes blogging starts to feel like a chore and I, too, have asked myself why I continue to do it. The answer, quite simply, is because I have come to think of my blog “family” as just that. Even if I was to stop writing, I couldn’t just walk away and forget all the people I’ve come to consider friends. I would like to make a few bucks from my blog but I doubt I will ever have the reader base for that, so it’s just a hobby. One that takes a considerable amount of my time just reading all the blogs to which I subscribe. But, hey, I’m retired and it’s fun!

  2. I know I have met a few interesting people on this blog as well. The thing about the money making aspect is that the things you can do to “monetize” your blog are also the things that will get you more traffic and more readers so even if you don’t plan to make money some of the same principles apply. It has very interesting tips, ones that are not always evident.
