Was that snow yesterday?

Jean-Jacques and I went to Ikea to return something and it might have snowed. I think it was just hail, but maybe I’m am the king of denial. In the parking lot while I waited for Jean-Jacques there was a huge flurry of “hail” for about 10 minutes. It didn’t stick to the ground and was generally solid, unlike snow. One thing I really never want to do is live in a snowy climate again. I guess if it snows a little bit once in a while and doesn’t stick I’ll be alright. The weather this winter has been bizarre here in Toulouse, last week 20C and least night 1C, maybe even below 0. Chaotic climate change here we come.

  1. It does sometimes snow heavily in Toulouse, I have the pictures to prove it, but as you stated, it doesn’t happen often. They had the same conditions in Paris yesterday and reported that it was snow mixed with hail.

  2. I grew up in Syracuse NY. I’m sure I don’t have to worry about snow like that here in Toulouse.

  3. The snow in the pictures I have is about four to six inches deep. Even in Delaware, we had deeper snow piles than that. But then too, it snowed almost every year. It only snows occasionally in France, although we did encounter quite a heavy snowstorm in Paris twice as we was at the airport. The first time was the worst. We boarded the plane at 12h30 and did not take off until 19h30, by which time we had eaten everything on board. We also missed our connecting flight to Miami. The airline put us up at a hotel in Philadelphia, but we got there around 01h00 and had to be back at the airport at 04h30, so it wasn’t too pleasant.

  4. It has been weird everywhere. We have had no winter in Houston this year. No cold whatsoever. Still, I hate the cold so I’m not really complaining.

  5. Well we did just have a few days of cold, not that I like it either, but I’ll put up with it, as long as it doesn’t snow, like I had been used to. I was hoping I could say the same thing Milena but then we had a bit of cold, oh well.
