Dogs with hair don't shed but they need to have their hair cut. Dogs with fur shed but don't need to have their hair cut. Kika has hair so she doesn't really get it in the bed, but she does sometimes leave some "grit" behind. our cat Jozi, that's a different story, if she weren't so affectionate I would never have agreed to having a long haired cat!
