Who sits around and thinks of these things?
Well I don’t know but since I am up at 7:00 this morning preparing for my first French class I will have a lot less time for such things. M-F 8:30- 12:30 for 3 months.
I hope you have better luck learning French than I’ve been having. My basic problem is remembering what I learn. My second biggest problem is understanding when I hear a French person speaking. I suspect that taking lessons in France would be a better way to go. In Paris, they give lessons at l’Hôtel de Ville. Do they offer that in Toulouse?
I understand French when I hear it as I have been with Jean-Jacques for over 10 years. I am overly attendant to the oral as they say. Most of what i hear I don’t really know what it looks like in writing and I certainly don’t know how to write much of it.
I am taking classes at the Alliance Française. It is right on the square at Place du Capitole. I tis such a nice walk in the morning. i get up and walk through Place Dupuy, down Rue de Metz, right on the pedestrian streets like Rue de Rome, and then voila, Place du Capitole.
It is much better taking classes in France as you are forced to speak it daily. I know there are Americans here who really don’t make the effort to speak French, but I don’t intend to be one of them. Why live in France if you don’t want to learn the language? But I digress.
