Simpleviewer picture viewer added
I added this plug in to make adding multiple pictures to a post more visually appealing. I hope you like it. A little animation, not too much, is good. There are supposed to be captions but I cannot get them to appear. Use the arrows to go forward and backward, I think there are 28 pictures.
These photos were taken today, December 23rd, 2007 as we walked around the city of Toulouse. It was very busy as people made last minute preparations for Christmas. There were many markets from food markets to Christmas markets. I gloated that yesterday the temperature was 15C, around 63 F and today it dropped a bit and was a little chilly walking around. Next time I’ll keep my mouth shut.
This is a WPSimpleViewerGallery
Works for me!
Can you see the captions? I cannot.
One of the pictures is nothing to look at but it has a funny juxtaposition. One club is called Club Privee and it has champagne, lap dancing, gaudy decor - very cheap train station neighborhood erotica. Next door to it is a restaurant called Le Vatican. I guess it comes in handy if you want to go to confession after a night at the club. As I was taking pictures people nervously scurried out of the club, I hope they thought I was a private investigator following them around.
Another picture was for a tea house called Salon du The Mon Coq. (I still cannot type the accents on an English keyboard). Mon Coq Snack. Based on my experience with the translation of Coq au vin I am imagining a translation of this to be something similarly funny. The rest of the pictures can stand on their own without captions, although it would help you know what you are looking at.
Nope, I can’t see captions. Just the word, “testing.”
As for mon coq, JJ should be able to fill you in on all that stuff… hehehehehe.
Go into the languages section of your control panel and click on International English. You’ll have to learn a few keystrokes, but once you get used to it, it’s really easy to use.
Or……….you can use this: http://lerevefrancais.blogspot.com/
I’ve really enjoyed reading your posts and hope to read even more in the future.
À bientôt.
I am on a Mac and I think it is built in. I had someone once show me the keystrokes but I have forgotten them. Now when I try to press the right combinations of things on the keyboard my oven turns on, shutters go down, and my toilet overflows, mais c’est la france!
Welcome to Toulouse! I say that but I am presently on vacation in Key West. I did put a link to your blog on mine, nonetheless. Happy Holidays!
