Survey’s are from us
We have gotten a low response to the surveys that we post in the right sidebar. They are made by us not some advertiser who wants to trick you into something. All you have to do is click on the answer to the question and that’s it. It’s fun to see what the results are. Try it, it won’t kill you. There’s a new one to the side. I am trying to get more than 10 people to respond to it.
I just recently discovered your blog and am enjoying reading about your adventures. I also answered your survey, but there’s no option for “I’m already in France.”
I know. I voted and then thought I need an already in France choice. I tried to edit it but then it said I cannot edit it because someone has already voted. I just added it, I’m going to remove it, then add it back with that choice, and see what happens.
I didn’t even know you had polls up! I read your blog through bloglines, so only your most recent post comes up, not the whole website.
7 votes in one day, that is a record. My blog is only a couple of months old but hopefully it’s growing.
OK so I voted. Now where is my lollypop?
Hey I read all your blogs and enjoyed them and the photos..almost like a visit with you! But now I am so hungry for a French tomato. I still remember the first plate of them in a small dive in Paris in–would you believe?–1947! Those and once in Cuba doing volunteer agricultural work one day where we gorged ourselves on perfect juicy sun-warmed tomatoes off the vine..were the best tomato experiences of my 80 years. Thanks for taking me back there.
Love, Barbara
Barbara,
Here is your lollipop and a kiss. Our friend Copper has sent many friends back to the states with the seeds from Mr. Leck’s tomatoes. I cannot promise tomatoes but I could send seeds. I’m not sure if that violates some law or anything, but it is a thought.
It is wonderful when random interactions can generate such strong memories. My mother had a similar experience she told me about after reading our post about Princeton NJ. She remembered the mufflers guys zore around their neck to denote they were from Princeton University and how the girls from the nearby state university were always trying to land a guy with the Princeton muffler.
This was in the 50’s.
So nice to hear from you, give Erwin and Nina kisses from us.
I’ve never zorn a muffler and I never will.
WCS, now that’s funny for many reasons, especially to those of us typing English on a French keyboard.
Maybe you simply made the same mistake as I made
Maybe you are making fun of my mistake by repeating it
Maybe you went to Princeton and are commenting on your outlook towards such class identifiers as mufflers
your wink at the end reveals something but I’m not sure what.
Either way I laughed out loud.
For those of you who don’t know the Z and W keys are switched on a French keyboard. Worn becomes Zorn, like John Zorn and Torture Garden.
I try to type on my laptop when i write in English and on our friends desktop when I type in French so I can get used to where the letters are. The problem is it transfers both ways, even when I am on an English keyboard I have started to remember where the keys are on the French keyboard so even in English I make mistakes typing.
I know I should proof read the posts but sometimes I am writing at 3 AM because I cannot sleep and I am not as alert as I should be.
WCS, I love the photos on your blog, they are beautiful. I’ve been meaning to add your blog to my Blogs I like List.
We have had a terrible last few days. Things are looking up and I can get back to frivilous things like posting in my blog.
