Spanning 3 chapters in life
This video about Toulouse is shorter and much more palatable than the 8 minute marathon of modern Toulouse and broke down Toulouse. It is very poignant for us as it spans 3 chapters in our lives. The music in the background is Survivor “Eye of the Tiger”. When we sold our house in Oakland, CA the couple that bought our house were musicians and were going to turn the detached garage into a music studio. We had to finish some work on the house on the day they moved in. Billy, the husband, was moving a Platinum record award into the house. I read it carefully and he played drums in Survivor and won the award for this song. The song is a cheesy 80’s song, but it was a soundtrack to what movie? Which brings us to the next phase of our lives. It was in Rocky II, and we were moving to Philadelphia. I don’t know if Rocky II had anything to do with Philadelphia but the first Rocky sure did. So much so, that the city of Philadelphia had a sculpture of Rocky made and placed out from of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Great museum, bad move. Of course, as we plan to move to Toulouse, we enter the current phase of our life. The video is not stunning but I couldn’t believe how it tied together 3 parts of our lives. As they say in CA, that’s weird.
No comments, how about Michelle, when you were in Farmer Joes in the new location at Fruitvale and MacArthur, and you saw this disgusting couple making out in front of the fruit, and you realized it was them. And then he tried to pick you up with the “I was in Survivor” line.
